لقد أصبحت الأمـة اليوم كما تعلمون غثاءًا كغثاء السيل، لقد تمـزق شملها وتشتت صفها، وطمع في الأمـة الضعيف قبل القوى، والذليل قبل العزيز، والقاصي قبل الداني، وأصبحت الأمة قصعة مستباحة كما ترون لأحقر وأخزى وأذل أمم الأرض من إخـوان القردة والخنازير، والسبب الرئيس أن العالم الآن لا يحترم إلا الأقوياء، والأمة أصبحت ضعيفة، لأن الفرقة قرينة للضعف، والخذلان، والضياع، والقوة ثمرة طيبة من ثمار الألفة والوحدة والمحبة، فما ضعفت الأمة بهذه الصورة المهينة المخزية إلا يوم أن غاب عنها أصل وحدتها وقوتها ألا وهو (الأخوة في الله) بالمعنى الذي جاء به رسول الله فمحال محال أن تتحقق الأخوة بمعناها الحقيقي إلا على عقيدة التوحيد بصفائها وشمولها وكمالها، كما حولت هذه الأخوة الجماعة المسلمة الأولى من رعاة للغنم إلى سادة وقادة لجميع الدول والأمم .
نعيش في هذه الأيام تحديات شتَّى لعل أبرزها سيادة المادة في العلاقات الإنسانية، الأمر الذي يتطلب أن نجدد معه "فقه الأخوة الإسلامية" لنعرفه، ونعمل به على مستوياتِ العمل كلها، باعتباره الوقود الدافع لسفينة العمل الإسلامي، والروح التي لن نستطيع الصمودَ بغيرها أمام تحدياتِ العصر الراهنة.
فإن رابطة الأخوة الإسلامية هي إشراقة إلهية سامية ، وهي الحبل الذي يجمع القلوب ويعقدها ببعضها ، وهي النور الذي يسري بين أرواح المؤمنين .
وتعتبر الأخوة من أهم ركائز المجتمع المسلم ودعامة من أهم دعائم الدولة الإسلامية لذلك حرص النبي (ﷺ) علي بناء المجتمع المسلم علي ركيزة الأخوة من أول يوم وصل للمدينة بعد الهجرة وبناء المسجد فآخي بين المهاجرين والأنصار ليقوي علاقة المسلم بأخيه المسلم .
