"إغفاءة صفراء" رواية تنتمي في بنائها الدرامي إلى جنس الرواية الجديدة، التي تنتهج طرق سرد متحررة من أنماط ومنطقية الرواية التقليدية، وأجادت الأديبة "فاطمة شعبان" في توظيف تقنيات تيار الوعي في بناء الأحداث والشخوص والزمان ولغة السرد، وغيرها من مكونات النص الروائي، كما تحررت من البناء التقليدي للحبكة، فجاءت الأحداث بمثابة مجموعة من المواقف والمشاهد والصور الروائية ذات الصبغة الإنسانية والتي لا تعتمد في تتابع مشاهدها وأحداثها على التسلسل المنطقي، بل تركز على تداعياتها وانعكاساتها النفسية على أبطال الرواية.
لغة السرد اتسمت بالسلاسة وعدم التعقيد في الانتقال عبر المحطات الزمنية التي تنقل القارئ من حدث إلى آخر ومن سلوك إلى آخر في جُمل قصيرة؛ عميقة المعاني، الرواية ذات مضمون أخلاقي فلسفي يتناول بجرأة في الطرح أزمة السلوكيات والعادات، ويصور؛ بضميرٍ واعٍ؛ جوانب من تناقضات مجتمعاتنا وازدواجية أفرادها، والانحراف السلوكي والديني والأخلاقي، والذي يحيل في النهاية إلى غربة الروح وتأرجحها بين الأمل والألم، بين الفرح والوجع، وبين الاشتياق والندم.
