في "إغضبوا!" يدين "ستيفان هسل" السياسي الفرنسي السابق كل أشكال اللا إنسانية التي يتعامل بها بعض الساسة الغربيين تجاه المهاجرين غير الشرعيين والغجر الروم أيضاً، كذلك يدين دكتاتورية السوق التي أفقرت وما زالت تفقر الطبقات المتوسطة وتزيد فقر الفقراء، وغنى الأغنياء والتي يتولد عنها لا إنسانية فائقة تجاه مهمشي العالم، وهو يقول للشبان "أنظروا حولكم... ستجدون أوضاعاً ملموسة تحملكم على الإنخراط في عمل مواطني مؤثر فتشوا تجدوا". وفي هذا السياق يهاجم هسل إجهاز السياسات الإقتصادية على كثير من المكتسبات الإجتماعية التي حققتها المقاومة وكذلك النضالات الإجتماعية التي تلتها، ففي مفتتح الكتاب يقول: "كان الحافز الأساس على المقاومة هو الغضب، وإننا لنهيب نحن قدامى حركات المقاومة والقوات المحاربة لفرنسا الحرة، بالأجيال الشابة أن تعمل على إحياء ونقل ميراث المقاومة ومثلها العليا. ونقول لهم تسلموا الراية، أغضبوا.." يعتبر هسل أن تاريخ المجتمعات يتقدم بعد أن يبلغ الإنسان حريته الكاملة، فعندئذ يمكن الحصول على الدولة الديمقراطية في شكلها المثالي. أما النقد الجذري والجرئ الذي أبداه هسل فهو نقده لإسرائيل من دون هوادة ولا مواربة، فهو وإن كان مع السلام بين الفلسطينين والإسرائيليين فإنه لا يتردد في توجيه الإتهام إلى إسرائيل بعنصريتها إمبرياليتها التي تستخف بحقوق الإنسان باتباعها سياسة التقتيل والتهجير الواضحة للعيان..
يتضمن الكتاب ترجمة لعدد من المقالات منها لباسكال بونيفاس وجان إيمانويل ديكوان، وكاترين دافيد، ومعظمها يتحدث عما تعرص له هسل خصوصاً بعد إلغاء الحوار معه والذي كان مقرراً في (دار المعلمين العليا) في باريس.
"اغضبوا" صرخة في وجه اللوبيات ومراكز القرار الإقتصادي والسياسي في الغرب، الرأسمالي يضع فيها هسل الإنسان في أعلى مرتبة لإنه هو الغاية وهو المثال...
