"أرحتُ ظهري على المقعد، تلفتُّ بعيني على ما حولي الذي غطته عتمة الليل إلا من بقايا خيوط ضوء القمر تشاكسه بعض الهوام، نور القمر ازدانت به صفحة السماء والمرصع في سقفها الرحب نجوم تشع ضوءًا يُشبه ضوء لمبة السهاري. تعلَّق بصري بالقمر. تارة أرى وجه ربــاب الرائق منعكسًا عليه، الماضي يسحبني إليه، وتارة أخرى يجذبني الحاضر إلى الثلاثينية المتزوجة، فأرى مُحيَّاها الجميل الذي يبدو كالقمر وإن بدت عليه لمسةُ حزنٍ، كأن بنات الحور قد خنقنه. "
