أبي الوليد محمد بن عبد الله الأزرقي
محمد بن عبد الله بن أحمد بن محمّد بن الوليد بن عقبة الغساني المعروف بـ آ«أبي الوليد الأزرقي المكّيآ»، وهو من المحدّثين والمؤرخين، بيد أنه لاتوجد بين أيدينا ـ وللأسف ـ معلومات دقيقة عن سنة ولادته.
قال عنه ابن النديم:
«هو محمّد بن عبد الله ... عقبة بن الأزرق ... وله من الكتب كتاب مكة وأخبارها وجبالها وأوديتها آ«كتاب كبيرآ»(415).
قال محقق الكتاب:
«ولد الأزرقي في مكّة المكرّمة في القرن الثاني للهجرة، ولم يعرف بالضبط تاريخ ولادته، ولا أشار إليه أحد من المؤرخين; لأن الأقدمين أهملوا ذكره بتاتاً. وترجمته التي وصلت إلينا من رواية المتأخّرينآ»(416). وسنة وفاته لم تُعرف أيضاً.
قال الحاج خليفة لما أتى على ذكر كتابه:
«الإمام أبو الوليد محمّد بن عبد الكريم الأزرقي، المتوفى سنة 223آ»(417).
