في مجموعتها القصصية (أخاف من ...) تنحو الكاتبة لطيفة لبصير منحى التجريب: فتتنكر لآليات السرد التقليدي، وتتخطى حدود التجنيس المنمط، لتتفتح نصوصها بأنساق مؤطرة بالرؤى والتأويلات والدلالات المستترة؛ فالقصة هنا لا تتمظهر بوحي من تجربة واقعية بقدر ما هي بوح ومناجاة، وتشظيات وانزياحات، تلك التي تسمح للقارىء أن يفسرها على هواه أو من زاويته الخاصة. فالكاتبة تفلسف الأشياء والوقائع على طريقتها وبلغتها في نصوص تكون للذات هيمنة عليها. ففي معظم الحالات ثمة ذات معلولة، وثمة مناجاة مرهفة، أو حوار داخلي (منولوج)، ونادراً ما نعثر على نصٍ مباشرٍ موجهٍ لجهة ما، وتبرز هذه القراءة عبر منظومة من الملفوظات الذهنية والحيّة في النص، مع كل ما يستتبع ذلك من شعرية في السرد وتضفير للواقع بالخيال "فكرت أن الموت لا رفيق له، هذا ما يشعرون به، ولذلك يرحل إلى مثواه وحيداً، يتيماً من أبنائه وذويه (...) بدأت أعيد إحياءه لحظة لحظة بذاكرتي التي لا تكف عن العمل برؤيته مراهقاً يقطف وردة صغيرة لحبيبته، رأيته هناك بعيداً يمسك بيد زوجته ويدخل معها إلى قاعة حمراء، رأيته يمسح بقايا الحساء الدافىء الذي يسقط من فم طفله الأول والثاني و ... يعمل ويحزن ويبكي ويصرخ ويحلم ويثور يوماً بعد يوم (...) شرعت أحدثه، أحسست بأنه يسمعني، فكلما بدأت الحديث يقطع أنينه، وكلما صمتت يحتد أنينه ويعلو، فكرت، ربما ينتحر أناس كثيرون خوفاً من هذا الإنحدار الثقيل إلى الموت".
في هذه المجموعة، وفي كواليسها الغامضة تلتقط لطيفة لبصير كنوزاً من حياة البشر لتصوغها قصصاً سردية تفتح من خلالها مناخات جديدة للروي، وبكلام آخر، كتابة خاصة تحتاج إلى قراءات وتفسيرات خاصة.
