إن الصلاة جماعة في بيوت الله تعالى من واجبات الدين, وسنن الهدى, يجتمع للمصلي فيها شرف المناجاة لله تعالى, وشرف العبادة, وشرف البقعة. ولقد رتب الإسلام على حضور المساجد أجراً عظيماً تحدثت عنه نصوص كثيرة. لذا فأنه يجب على قاصد المسجد لأداء هذه العبادة العظيمة أن يتحلى بأشرف الصفات, وأحسن الخصال, وإن من الملاحظ أن كثيراً ممن يقصدون المساجد لأداء الصلاة يخلون بأشياء كثيرة تتعلق بالمساجد, سواء قبل دخولها أو بعد دخولها, فهناك أخطاء ومخالفات كثيرة. إن الصلاة التي كانت قرة عيون المؤمنين, ومعراج المتقين, أصبحت عند كثير من المصلين عبارة عن حركات منظمة تفتقد الخشوع والطمأنينة والإقبال الحقيقي على مالك يوم الدين. وأنى لصلاة كهذه أن تنهى عن الفحشاء والمنكر, فتؤدي وظيفتها في حياة الناس وسلوكهم. ولهذه الأسباب لجأ المؤلف لجمع أحكام حضور المساجد وآدابه, حرصاً على إحياء السنة, وتذكير الناس بما غفلوا عنه, وحثاً على العمل بها, كما هو شأن السلف الصالح في هذه الأمة. وقد تناول المؤلف المواضيع التالية: تعريف المسجد وفضل بنائه وما ينبغي فيه, حكم صلاة الجماعة والتحذير من التهاون فيها, أحكام حضور المسجد للصلوات الخمس, أحكام حضور الجمعة, أحكام حضور المرأة للمسجد.
