يقدم الكتاب مجموعة من الدراسات متنوعة الرؤى حول "احتفالية المولد" قدمها مجموعة من الباحثين في مجال التراث الشعبي في عدة تخصصات، اهتمت برصد العناصر الجمالية لاحتفالية المولد في بعض أعمال الفنانين التشكيليين المعاصرين، والتي تعكس تأثرهم بفولكلور المولد. كما اهتمت بتتبع عناصر الأداء الحركي في المولد وفي مقدمتها رقصة التحطيب، وحركات الذكر والحضرة الصوفية وغيرها. اهتمت الدراسات أيضًا برصد علاقة المولد بالتربية الوجدانية للطفل، وبحث تأثره بالعديد من الظواهر الشعبية فضلاً عن الحكايات والإبداعات الشعبية. كما اهتمت الدراسات أيضًا ببحث تقنيات التوثيق لاحتفالية المولد من خلال بحث المعالجة البصرية لثقافة المولد بين الواقع الميداني الذي يحتفل بعشرات العناصر الشعبية والإبداع السينمائي الذي استلهم تلك العناصر. كما ناقشت الدراسات في بحث آخر فكرة تقديم توثيق عنصر الاحتفال بالولي باستخدام التقنيات الحديثة، ثم تقديمه للتسجيل على القائمة التمثيلية لليونسكو. كما اهتمت الدراسات ببحث بعض العناصر الجمالية في احتفالية المولد كدراسة "أعلام ورايات الطرق الصوفية بالمولد، وما تحويه من ألوان ورموز، وكذا عمارة الضرحة التي تحفل بالعديد من عناصر التنوع سواء من ناحية الشكل الجمالي أو ما تحويه من مضامين تراثية.
