فضيلة هذا النص في تصدّيه لـ«التجربة السجنية» أنه لا يتفلسف، بالمعنى المذموم للكلمة، بل يسرد ويصف ويقصّ، وإذ يمضي النص في سرده ووصفه وقصِّه، وإذ يُصرّ صاحبه، أحمد عبد الحليم، على وصف نصه بـ«الرواية القصيرة»، يترك المطالع/المطالعة لشأنه فيستولي عليه تارة من الشعور بالضيق ما تضيقه الزنزانة على أهلها وأصحابها، وتزكم أنفه، تارة أخرى رائحة الخبائث التي يسعى السجين إلى «إدارة» التَّخَفُّفَ منها، وقد لا يخلو، عندما يصل الأمر ـ والأمر هنا هو عين النص ـ إلى تباضع الأجساد، حقيقةً أو افتراضًا، أن يتلمس جسده ليتأكَّد من أن جسده هو في مأمن ممّا يجري وأن الأمر لا يعنيه!
للكاتب أن يصرَّ ما يشاء على أن نصَّه «رواية قصيرة»... إصراره يلزمه ولا يلزم القارئ الذي لا يني يتساءل، كلما أمعن النص في تقليب «الخبائث»، من أين يأتي صاحبه بكل هذه الدقة في الوصف والتشريح، مشكّكًا بما يريد صاحب النصّ لنصِّه أن يحمل عليه...
«رواية قصيرة» أم شهادة متخيَّلة أم غير ذلك، يتابع هذا الدفتر، السادس من دفاتر منتدى المشرق والمغرب للشؤون السجنية، التملي من السجن مذكِّرًا بأن السجن ليس فكرة تعبر وإنما محنة قلَّ من يخرج منها كما ولجها.
