إبراهيم بن أدهم، أبو إسحاق، إبراهيم بن منصور بن زيد بن جابر العجلي ويقال التميمي، أحد علماء أهل السنة والجماعة ومن أعلام التصوف السني في القرن الثاني الهجري، كان من أبناء الملوك والمَياسير. خرج متصيداً، فأثار ثعلب واذا هو طلبه، هتف به هاتف من قربوس سرجه: "والله! ما لهذا خلقت!، ولا بهذا أمرت!". فنزل عن دابته، وصادف راعياً لأبيه، فأخذ جبته فلبسها، وأعطاه ثيابه وقماشه وفرسه وترك طريقته، في التزين بالدنيا، ورجع إلى طريقة أهل الزهد والورع. وخرج إلى مكة، وصحب بها سفيان الثوري، والُفضيل بن عِياض. ودخل بلاد الشام، فكان يعمل فيها، ويأكل من عمل يده
