خاض تجربة جديدة في مجال الشعر تتمثل في توليد الأوزان العروضية الجديدة و القوالب الموسيقية و ابتكر مفهوم التشكيل الحر الذي مكنته من تعديل بعض الأوزان العروضية و توليد أوزان جديدة ، و من هذه الأوزان بحر المنطلق و بحر السياب و بحر المجنح و الرنم و القبس، و أثبت قابلية بعض الأوزان التي أقر رواد الشعر الحر بامتناعها عن الشعر الحر لأن ينظم عليها شعر حر باعتماد مفهوم التشكيل الحر و من هذه البحور بحر المديد و الخفيف ، و استحدث عبر هذا المفهوم شكلا شعريا أسماه قصيدة التشكيل الحر يقوم على الخلط بين تفعيلات متقاربة صوتية في قالب واحد دون الشعور بالنشاز في الانتقال بينها . تعتبر تجربته امتدادا لتجربة الشعر الحر التي أقر بأنها تجربة مبتورة لم تكتمل بسبب سيطرة قصيدة النثر على المشهد الشعري.
