ثم قرأ عقود الجمان للسيوطي
ودرس المعلقات
والمفضليات
وقرأ أكثر دواوين الجاهلية
وجمهرة أشعار العرب وغيرها
وعكف على نقائض جرير والفرزدق ونقائض جرير والأخطل وديوان بشار بن برد وديوان البحتري
ولديه ديوان لم ينشر بعد
