رواية اجتماعية من نوع الدراما الإنسانية / أدب الحرب، تعرض مرايا تمزق البيت السوري و التشظي الأسري تحت وطأة الصراع خلال الثورة السورية منذ بدايتها في عام 2011م.
تتناول الرواية قصة تفتت الأسرة السورية من الداخل، حيث لم تكن الحرب مجرد صراع مسلح، بل كانت مشرطا أعاد تشكيل مصائر الشخصيات من حي واحد، ليتحولوا إلى مرايا متناقضة تعكس الانقسام المجتمعي الكبير.
هي رحلة في عتمة السجون، خنادق القتال، منافي الغربة في الخارج، وغربة الانتظار القاتل فوق سجادات الصلاة.
وفي ظل هذا التمزق المجتمعي الكبير تذوب النساء قهرا، النساء اللواتي حملنّ العبء الأثقل فكان منهن:
المعتقلات: اللواتي يحملن ندوب السجن في صمتهن وخرجن أجسادا بلا أرواح.
الأمهات: اللواتي يذبلنّ على سجادات الصلاة المبللة بدموعهن بانتظار غائب قد لا يعود.
الزوجات والحبيبات: اللواتي فُجعن بأحلامهن قبل أن تبدأ واغتيل موعد زفافهن. في هذه الرواية يبرز دور المرأة كحارس لذاكرة ووجع العائلة السورية.
تمتاز "آخر العنقود" بتصوير التحولات النفسية للمجتمع السوري بعيداً عن المباشرة السياسية، وتعرض حالات الصراع النفسي للشخصيات، بلغة تجمع بين الشاعرية والواقعية القاسية.
