مفكر مصري، متخصص في الاقتصاد السياسي، مؤسِّس مدرسة الإسكندرية كتيارٍ فكري هدفه إحياءُ الاقتصاد السياسي بصفته علمًا اجتماعيًّا، وإعادةُ النظر في مسلَّماته ونظرياته. من أهم مُساهَماته نقدُه الحاسم لنظرية التبادل غير المتكافئ، وتصحيح مقياس القيمة بعد أكثر من مِائتَي سنة من كتابات «ماركس». وتُعَد نظريته في تسرُّب القيمة على الصعيد العالمي من النظريات المهمة في تفسير تخلُّف بلدان العالم الثالث.
وُلِد «محمد عادل زكي» في حي الإبراهيمية بمحافظة الإسكندرية في الحادي عشر من شهر سبتمبر عام ١٩٧٢م، والتحق بكلية الحقوق جامعة الإسكندرية، وتخرَّج فيها عام ١٩٩٢م، وعمل بالمحاماة.
من أهم مؤلَّفاته: «مبادئ الاقتصاد السياسي»، و«التبعية مقياس التخلُّف»، و«روَّاد الفكر الاقتصادي»، و«اقتصادات تنزف عرقًا»، و«الاقتصاد السياسي للتخلف»، بالإضافة إلى العديد من الأبحاث المنشورة في دوريات علمية محكَّمة باللغات العربية والفرنسية والإنجليزية

Cette étude examine l’élimination historique de l’économie politique en tant que science
critique et sociale, en retraçant son émergence en Europe pour expliquer les phénomènes
capitalistes nouveaux tels que la machinerie, la plus-value et le travail salarié. Bien qu’elle
prenne racine dans les œuvres de Smith, Ricardo et Marx — unis par la loi de la valeur —,
l’économie politique a été progressivement supplantée par l’économie néoclassique, qui a
déplacé l’accent de la production vers l’échange marchand et l’utilité individuelle. L’essor des
doctrines néolibérales a approfondi ce glissement, réduisant l’économie à des formules
techniques détachées des réalités sociales. Dans le monde arabe, notamment en Égypte, cette
transformation a conduit à l’adoption de modèles économiques importés qui masquent les
logiques structurelles de dépendance et de sous-développement. L’article soutient que la
redécouverte de l’économie politique est essentielle, non seulement pour l’intégrité
académique, mais aussi pour restaurer une conscience critique capable d’affronter les crises de
notre époque.
