Dieses Werk richtet sich an Muslime, die nach Wissen streben, ihre Religion bewusst praktizie-ren und ihre Glaubensgrundlagen auf das Fundament der Ahl as-Sunna wa-l-Ǧamāʿa stützen möchten – so wie es die vier großen Imame der islamischen Rechtsschulen verstanden und ge-lehrt haben: Abū Ḥanīfa, Mālik, aš-Šāfiʿī und Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal – möge Allah ihnen allen barmherzig sein.
Die Glaubenslehre (ʿAqīda) ist die Grundlage jeder Tat. Ohne eine korrekte Überzeugung ist keine Handlung bei Allah gültig. Aus diesem Grund begannen die Propheten – Friede sei auf ihnen – mit der Festigung des Tauḥīd, des reinen Monotheismus, bevor sie ihre Gemeinschaften zu weiteren Pflichten aufriefen. Die Kenntnis Allahs, Seiner Namen und Eigenschaften, der Glaube an Seine Engel, Bücher, Gesandten, an den Jüngsten Tag und an die göttliche Vorher-bestimmung – all dies sind Säulen, auf denen das Herz des Gläubigen ruht.
