( 1313- 1375). شاعر وروائي إيطالي، معاصر لبترارك. ولد قبل وفاة دانتي، ألف “الديكاميرون”، وهي من المؤلفات العالمية المشهورة. وقع في حب ماريا ابنة الملك روبرت، وكتب بتكليف منها قصة طويلة، كما نظم ملحمة طويلة على غرار الإلياذة عنوانها ” تسييد”. ومن رواياته المشهورة ” فيامتا “( اسم مستعار لحبيبته ماريا)، التي تصور حبها له وهجره لها، نظم مسرحية “فيلو سترافو” التي تروي قصة ترويلس وكريسيدا، و” قصيدة كورباشيو” وهي هجاء للمرأة. دفعه إعجابه بالشاعر دانتي إلى كتابة ترجمة له. يعتبر بوكاشيو من أبرع الكتاب في سرد القصة وتحليلها.
