كان مخطوط الكتاب الذي يحمله عمر ثروت؛ وهو شاب لم يقترب من الثلاثين من العمر؛ يدور حول موضوع عجوز وعويص وعميق، ويحتاج لإعمال فكر وخبرة طويلة ربما لم تتوافر لشاب مثله. كان الكتاب عن الحلم القومي العربي. عن تجلياته، عما يمكن أن يفعله لنا وبنا. عن طريقة استعادته مرة أخرى لأنه لا مفر أمام عرب اليوم من العودة لذلك الحلم، حتى لو كانت العودة مستحيلة. وإن كان الشاب- للحقيقة والإنصاف- يقرن الحلم العربي المستحيل بالثورة التي ما إن نقترب منها حتى نبتعد عنها، ولا نستطيع أن نجعل منها طاقة مستمرة ودائمة لتغيير الحياة إلى الأفضل.
