الاوتوكاد هو برنامج تصميم باستخدام الحاسوب لتصميمات ثنائية او ثلاثية الابعاد واصدرت اول نسخة منه عام 1980 تحت اسم CAD وتعني التصميم بمعونه الحاسوب يستخدم في مجالات التصميم ويستخدم لانشاء كافة تصاميم المشاريع ومشاهدتها كما تكون في الحقيقة يستخدم البرنامج الاحقة بامتداد dwg المشتقة من كلمة drawings التي تعني الرسومات ويستطيع تبادل الملفات مع برامج اخلرى وبهذا نرى حجم العمل الذي يختصره هذا ابرنامج على المهندسين
