• حصل على البكالوريوس من كلية التجارة بجامعة الملك سعود بالرياض عام 1963.
• تلقى تعليمه العالي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فحصل على شهادة الماجستير في الإدارة من جامعة منيسوتا عام 1966، ثم حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الإدارة العامة من الجامعة الأمريكية بواشنطن في مطلع عام 1970.
• تدرج في السلك الأكاديمي فحصل على درجة أستاذ عام 1979.
• عمل عميداً لكلية التجارة , وكلية العلوم الاجتماعية , وكلية الدراسات العليا، مستشار في عدة هيئات علمية, وعضو في هيئة تحرير المجلة العربية للإدارة, ومجلة العلوم الاجتماعية.
• له العديد من المؤلفات والدواوين الشعرية.

الاهتمام بدراسة إدمان الانترنت إلي أن أكثر الفئات استخداماً للانترنت هم طلبة الجامعات الذين سيكون بأيديهم مقاليد كل شئ فى بضع سنين، فمن الإحصاءات المتوافرة وجدنا أن 72% من طلبة الجامعة يستخدمونه ، ويشترك حوالي 87% منهم في خدمة الانترنت ، لذا فإن طلبة الجامعة أكثر عرضة للمشكلات المرتبطة باستخدام الانترنت خاصة الاستخدام المفرط له والزائد عن الحد، وهناك عوامل عديدة تكمن وراء زيادة احتمال تعرض طلاب الجامعة لمشكلات نفسية وسلوكية عديدة كالإكتئاب والانطواء وفقدان المساندة الاجتماعية وانخفاض التحصيل الدراسي أو الأكاديمي لدي هولاء الطلاب .
