إن طلب العلم الشرعي من أفضل الأعمال التي يتقرب العبد بها إلى الله سبحانه وتعالى، ولما كان الطالب لهذا العلم بحاجة إلى معرفة الأصول التي يضمن بها الوصول، وإلى معرفة المتون التي من يحفظها يحوز الفنون؛ أحببت أن أكتب في بيان العلوم الشرعية، والعلوم المساعدة لها، والمتون الخاصة بكل فن، حسب التدرج فيه، وتخريج أحاديثها، وبيان لغتها، والكتب المتعلقة بها، لتكون زادًا لطالب العلم، ومسارًا يسير عليه في طلبه للعلم الشرعي، لأن سلوك هذه الطريقة - بعد عون الله تعالى - هو الذي يجعل الطالب متمكنًا في العلم، كان عليه طريقة أهل العلم من سنين طويلة، كما يعلم ذلك من الاطلاع على تراجمهم.
