AMRO BIN AL AASS was one of the wealthy tribesmen of Qureish who at first opposed and fought against prophet Muhammad. He was sent by Qureish at the head of a delegation to al-Najashi, Emperor of Abyssinia, in an attempt to convince him to oust the Muslims who took refuge in his contry. Ultimately, he embraced Islam and became one of the staunchest supporter of the Divine Message. He commanded the Muslim armies which liberated Egypt from Roman occupation with close assistance from Egypt's Copts.
