"ناقص 18 هو الإسم الذي اختاره الكاتب والشاعر وليد عبد المنعم لروايته الأولى الصادرة عن دار تشكيل للنشر والتوزيع، مثيراً بهذا العنوان الكثير من توقعات وخيالات القاريء نظراً لما تحمله تلك السنّ من دلالة وإشارة لتحوّل حياة الفرد في عدة جوانب مختلفة، على رأسها الجانب الجنسي. ولعل الحبكة الدرامية التي يقدمها الكاتب من خلال عدة شخوص يعاني أغلبها من قضايا جنسية ونفسية تصادف توقعات القاريء في مناحِ وتخالفها في مناحِ أخرى. فلا شك أن المحتوى صادم، وحرج، ودقيق، قدّمه الكاتب في إطار علمي ونفسي وعاطفي واجتماعي شامل، استند فيه إلى الكثير من الأبحاث والقراءات العلمية، معتمداً لغة أدبية ثرية في بساطة، وهيكل روائي دينامي يثير فضول القاريء واهتمامه ويحفّز تركيزه. الرواية - في مجملها - محاولة جريئة لتغيير بعض وجهات نظر المجتمع تجاه قضايا شديدة الحساسية، ربما في إطار إنصاف المرأة وتصحيح النظرة المجتمعية إليها، وهو السياق الذي انتهجه الكاتب وليد عبد المنعم في غالبية أشعاره وأغانيه حتى بات يُعرف في أوساط المتابعين بـ "شاعر المرأة".
