أجاب حسام: "بالطبع أخشى، ولكن صدقني إذا فعل شيئا كهذا فلن أتركه حتى أُدخله السجن ولو كان آخر ما أقوم به في حياتي، هناك هيئات ومواقع تعمل على مكافحة الابتزاز والجرائم المعلوماتية والإلكترونية، ثم لنفترض أنه نشر لي المقطع، من كان بلا ماضٍ فليوبخني أولا، إن ما قمت به مجرد تسلية عابرة".

قالها وهو ينظر إلى عامل البوفيه الذي انتهى من تنظيف الأرضية ووقف يغسل يديه على الحوض.
بعد أسبوع من حديث شوقي مع حسام دخلت سعاد إلى الحمام لتجد زوجها ممددًا في البانيو الذي تلونت مياهه بلون أحمر، صرخت واضعة كفيها على خديها وهي تنظر إلى الموس المُلقى أرضا بجوار البانيو من ذراع شوقي التي سالت عليها الدماء من جرحين قطعيين عند الرسغ.
