بعد ستة أعوام كنت قد قضيتها سلفيّاً متشدداً مدافعاً عن مذهبي بقوّة وداعياً له، معتقداً ضلال من خالف وخسران من تخلّف، منتقداً للمذاهب الأخرى وأتباعها لاعتقادي عدم اتّباعهم الدليل الصحيح والفرقة الناجية والطائفة المنصورة! إلى أن حدثت معي حادثة لا بفعلي واختياري وإنّما بإرادة إلهيّة ونعمة ربّانية، فقمت بالبحث بسببها، وتيسّر لي اتّباع الحقّ من خلالها، ونبذت التعصّب وتقليد الآباء عن طريقها، فتبسّم لي الدليل الصحيح والبرهان الصريح والحجّة القويّة، فانبسطت جوانحي واستقرّت جوارحي واطمأنّ قلبي، بعد أن كنت متشدداً متشنّجاً شديداً فظّاً غليظاً متأسّياً بالفاروق! - كما نزعم كسلفيين - لا أكاد أرى أحداً إلاّ وقد صدر منه ما يخالف ما أنا عليه أو أدعو إليه من الحقّ باعتقادي، وظنّي حتّى مع أبناء جلدتي ومذهبي ومن هم على شاكلتي - وهذا حال جميع السلفيين - فإنّنا نختلف في المذهب الواحد إلى مذاهب (والفرقة الناجية) إلى فرق.
