يتناول هذا الكتاب تاريخنا الماضي وربطه بالحاضر، والدلالات التي تعطي لتسمية سورية وعلاقة ذلك بالسريان ومساحة هذه البلاد التي تفوق في وضعها الحالي إلى الضعف ومدى تأثرنا وتأثر اللغة العربية باللغة السريانية الماثلة في معظم مفردات لغتنا المتداولة يوميًا دون أن نلحظ أصلها في الغالب، لندرة ما كتب في ذلك ..كذلك في أسماء القرى والمدن الكثيرة التي تعود في أصولها إلى السريانية وكذلك في المقارنات التي تجع بين الكلات السريانية مع العربية وغيرها من اللغات التي تعود في أصولها إلى اللغة الأم.
