منذ متى بدأ الصراع مع الغرب، هل مع بداية الفتوحات الإسلامية وهزيمة جيوش الروم في بلاد الشام، أم عندما غزى الفرنجة البلاد الإسلامية، أو مع الاستعمار الحديث، ربما كل ذلك، حملت العلاقة العديد من الصور والأفكار النمطية، بحيث أصبحت كلمة الإسلام مشحونة بكل صور الماضي، ولهذا فإن نشر الصور الكاريكاتيرية والمعلومات المشوهة عن الإسلام في الصحف والمجلات والمحطات الفضائية، ليس وليداً للحظة الآتية بل سبقه عمليات تشويه متعددة، الكتاب يرصد علاقة الإسلام مع وسائل الإعلام الغربية، وكيف تم تشويه صورة الإسلام كدين وصورة المسلمين الذين يعتنقون هذا الدين، ويحاولوا أن يعيشوا بسلام على هذه الأرض
