ان المسلمين إلى جانب اهتمامهم بالفتوحات ونشر الدين الاسلامي بين الشعوب الاخرى، الا انهم لم يهملوا الجانب الحضاري فبعد الاستقرار السياسي في الاندلس توجهوا مباشرة . نحو الاهتمام بالعلوم وتطويرها، وكانت بداية توجههم الى العلوم النقلية، بسبب عقيدتهم الدينية وحاجة البلاد المفتوحة . لتعلم مبادئ الدين الاسلامي وبعد ذلك وسعوا دائرة العلوم فشملت العلوم التجريبية والتي نقصد بها العلوم التي تحتاج الى التجربة من اجل أثباتها مثل الطب والصيدلة وعلم الحساب والفلك. اخترنا في دراستنا هذه موضوعاً حول العلوم التجريبية في الاندلس من بداية الفتح الاسلامي لاسبانيا سنة 711/092م وحتى نهاية عصر الخلافة الأموية سنة 1031/0422م، اعتمد الاندلسيون في البداية في العلوم التجريبية على العلماء والمؤلفات الموجودة في المشرق الإسلامي والتي وصل اليها المسلمون عن طريق الرحلات العلمية ولكن بعد فترة وجيزة بدأوا بتكوين ثقافتهم الخاصة والتي كونت على اساس جهود وتصميم علمائها الشغوفين بتعليم وتطوير العلوم، فكانت نتيجة ذلك مؤلفات وابتكارات في مجال الطب والصيدلة والحساب والفلك أذهل العالم أنذاك
