بحثت الدراسة، في تحليل الخطاب، العلاقةَ بين نظرية الاستلزام الحواري، وبين انسجام الخطاب، بالاستناد إلى المنهج الاستدلالي على نحو أساسي، وتوصلت إلى أن انسجام الخطاب لا يمكن أن يتحقق في ذهن المخاطب دون اللجوء إلى الاستلزام الحواري؛ إذ تبين لها أن المخاطب يجب أن يكون متعاونًا في تأويله الاستلزامات الحوارية في الخطاب ليتحقق الانسجام في ذهنه، وتقصد الدراسة بتعاون المخاطب، هنا، أن يختار من بين الاستلزمات الحوارية الممكنةِ المعانيَ المستلزمة حواريًّا التي تحقق الانسجام. وعلى نحو مغاير، تبين أن المعنى المستلزم حواريًّا لا يتحدد بدقة إلا إذا حقق الانسجام. وعلى هذا اقترحت الدراسة أداتين: أفقية، وعمودية، بهما يستطيع محلل الخطاب أو المخاطب أن يتحقق، بالاستناد إلى الاستلزام الحواري، من الانسجام في الخطاب أفقيًّا وعموديًّا، وقد أكد التطبيق على قصيدة لاعب النرد للشاعر محمود درويش صحة ما سبق، مؤكدًا فعاليته، وعدم إمكانية الاستغناء عنه؛ بما إذ أمكن الكشف عن قراءات جديدة للخطابات الأدبية.
