هنالك العديد الأمر الذي كُتب ولم يكُتب عن المآسي الاجتماعية التي خلفتها المجازر التي تعرض لها أرمن الجمهورية العثمانية في طليعة القرن السالف، بل ما يميز المأساة التي يعرضها ذاك الكتاب هو إجبار البنت هيرانوش على العيش بجانب موضع المذابح التي شهدتها بأم عينها، التي أودت بحياة أغلب قاطنين قريتها والقرى المحيطة، إضافةً إلى تحويل اسمها إلى (سهر) وحرمانها من نشر وترويج هويتها الحقيقية.
إلا أن مع ذاك لم تكن هيرانوش (سهر) تشتكي من هذا بمقدار شوقها إلى اجتماع من توجد من أهلها الذين اكتشفت، في أعقاب زيادة عن عشر سنين، بأنهم قد بلغوا إلى حلب، لكنها مُنعت من بحت زيارتهم؛ ومضىت عمر يقارب الـ 95 بدون أن تتمكن من مواجهة واحد من من ضمنهم.
أما المكابدة الكبرى التي لم يلحظها واحد من فهي أنها تحمّلت بمفردها تلك الأوجاع، التي تعجز المناطق الجبلية عن حملها، لمقدار ستين عاماً. حيث إنها لم تجاسر وتعدي بالبوح عنها سوى في أعقاب بلوغها سن الشيخوخة وإدراكها أن السن لين إلى محطته الأخيرة، فشاركت جزءاً من تلك المنقولات مع حفيدتها، فتحية جتين، لعلها يمكنها العثورعلى من توجد من أهلها والمقابلة بهم قبل أن يباغتها الأجل
