رواية رومانسية اجتماعية تحكي عن طفلة بدوية تنشأ في بيئة قبلية لها تقاليدها واعرافها، تحيا في البادية، تعيش هى وعائلتها على هبات زوار القبور، لها جرائها التي يسقط إحداها في بئر ماء، وعندما تحاول إنقاذه تسقط معه، يري مشهدها صبي من الحضر، يحاول إنقاذها، يقفز خلفها، يقضيا في الماء سويعات يقاوما الموت، حتى تكتشف بقية الجراء أمرهما، تنبح بكل قوة لتلفت نظر القبيلة إليهما، يخرجا تنشأ بينهما قصة حب، ترفضها القبيلة، حتى نهاية الرواية
