د. هادي عبدالله الطائي أكاديمي ومترجم عراقي مقيم في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. يحمل شهادة الدكتوراه في اللسانيات والترجمة وشهادة الماجستير في الترجمة (انجليزي/عربي) من جامعتي المستنصرية في العراق وهيريوت-واط في المملكة المتحدة.
عمل مديراً لقسم الترجمة والنشر في وزارة الثقافة العراقية ومدرساً في جامعة بغداد كما عمل محاضراً في جامعة سانت جوزيف اللبنانية في دبي -قسم ماجستير الترجمة.
عمل بصفة مترجم أقدم ومدير تحرير لمدة 12 سنة في دوائر حكومة أبوظبي.
ترجم عشرين كتاباً في مختلف المجالات الأدبية والثقافية والسياسية وقد نشرت كلها في بغداد والأردن وأبوظبي.
بتكليف من هيئة أبوظبي للثقافة والسياحة قام بترجمة كتاب "تاريخ جزيرة العرب" من تأليف الدكتور أندرو كرايتن والصادر عام 1815 وقد صدرت الترجمة العربية في عام 2015 ضمن إصدارات الهيئة.
فاز بجائزة ابن بطوطة لأدب الرحلات في سنة 2022 عن ترجمته لكتاب "رحلة في جزيرة العرب" تأليف جون لويس بوركهارت.

يمكن أن يبدأ البحث عن الفهم والتذوق الفني من خلال النظر الى اللوحات. اننا جميعاً نلاحظ وجود اللوحات، ولكننا نعدها أمراً مسلماً به، شأن غيرها من الأشياء بوصفها جزءاً من العالم حولنا. إن النظر إلى يتطلب جهداً واعياً ايجابياً.
يهدف هذا الكتاب الى وصف طريقة النظر، وإلى حد ما, وصف الشيء الذي يجب أن ننظر اليه. وبما أن الكتاب معني بالنظر أساساً، فقد قدمت الشروحات فيه بوسائل بصرية إلى أقصى حد ممكن، مع أقل قدر من النصوص وأكبر عدد من الصور والمخططات.
