غراتسيا ديليدا هي أديبة إيطالية من مواليد جزيرة سردينيا ولدت في 27 سبتمبر 1871 وتوفيت في 15 اغسطس 1936.
هاجرت إلى روما في أوائل القرن العشرين حصلت على جائزة نوبل في الأدب لسنة 1926.
وهي ثاني امرأة تحصل على الجائزة.
كانت اعمالها شديدة الارتباط بموطنها الاصلي سردينيا.

عادةً ما تكون روايات سردينيا مثل الكثير من إنتاج ديليدا تدور أحداثها في حظائر.
فنجد ذلك العجوز اولبيانو يبحث عن خادم لكنه يجد صعوبة في العثور عليه: ففى هذه الأوقات العصيبة سلب الجوع والحرب أقوى الأولاد حتى قدم لوكا دونيدو ، وهو صبي يبلغ من العمر ستة عشر عامًا للخدمة عنده. و على الرغم من صغر سنه كان يتمتع لوكا بشخصية قوية وجاذبية غير عادية. و مع وصوله ، أصبح اولبيانو سعيدًا وبدا أن الخادم الشاب قد حل جميع مشاكله ، وخفف من وحدته. و تنشأ على الفور علاقة من الاحترام والثقة والصداقة والألفة بين الاثنين. لكن نفس الصبي سيتسبب بعد ذلك بوقت قصير ، فى جلب الاضطراب والمعاناة لأسرته و لاسرة الرجل العجوز...
