تدور أحداث الرواية في جامعة اليرموك، لشابٍ يدعى محمد كان يعيشُ بحالة اكتئاب شديدة، جعلته في كل يومٍ يرى الكوابيس المرعبة، مدمناً على السجائر وعلى الحزن، حتى جاء ذلك اليوم الذي وقع فيه بالحب، عند رؤيته لفتاةٍ خطفة قلبه بنظرتها البراقة في بهو المكتبة، لتنتهي معاناته مع الاكتئاب والحزن، ويعود إلي طبيعته الأولى، لينتهي به المطاف مرةً أخرى إلى حالة الحزن والاكتئاب بعد أن اختفت الفتاة بظروفٍ غامضة، ليجد نفسه في حلقةٍ مفرغة وفي متاهةٍ لا يستطيع الخروج منها.
