الصراع بين الحق والباطل باقٍ ما بقي الليل والنهار، ولقد بشّرنا رسولنا الكريم ﷺ بمعارك حاسمة وملاحم قوية تقع في آخر الزمان، تكون الغلبة فيها للحق وأهله. وكان من الأمور التي تجرى في آخر الزمان خروج رجل من أهل بيت النبوة، يوافق اسمُه اسمَ النبي ﷺ، يقال له: المهدي، يتولى إمرة المسلمين، يؤيد الدين، ويظهر العدل، ويستولي على الممالك الإسلامية، ويملأ الأرض قسطًا وعدلًا بعد أن مُلئتْ ظلمًا وجورًا، كما دلت على ذلك الأحاديث الكثيرة التي تلقتها الأمة بالقبول، ولم ينكرها إلا شذوذٌ من الناس.
وهذا الموضوع جذّاب شيّق، يلتذّ المسلم بقراءته وسماعه، لأن رواياته تصوّر ما هو آتٍ من أحداث الزمان، مما يحفز المسلم على الاستعداد والتأهّب ليكون في صفّ الحق.
والكتاب الذي بين أيدينا هو بعضٌ من تراثٍ كبير خلّفه لنا أئمة الدين في موضوع المهدي المنتظر، ومؤلفه هو العلامة الشيخ مرعي بن يوسف الكرمي، من أعيان الحنابلة في بلادنا فلسطين، ومن المكثرين من التصنيف المتفننين فيه.
وقد عني المحقق الكريم بمقابلة الكتاب على نسخ خطية نفيسة، وخدمه على الوجه اللائق.
