كان الخلاف العَقَدي ـ وما يزال ـ هو أصل الخلافات كلها؛ بيد أن أساليب توجيه هذا الخلاف والتعامل معه لم تحظ بالعناية اللازمة التي تقتضيها خطورة موضوعه، ومن ثَم فالمطلوبُ الضروري من الباحثين والدارسين ـ أمام هول ما نرى وما نسمع مما يقع في بلدان إسلامية عدة من اقتتال طائفي ونزاع مذهبي ـ أن يُعنَوا بتوجيه هذا الخلاف العَقَدي والبحث في وسائل تخليصه من شرور الفُرقة، مع التنقير في تراثنا الإسلامي عن المؤلفات المساعدة في تأصيل هذا التوجيه وفي ضبط تشعبات مسائله؛ لكي تكون مرجعًا يُقاسُ عليه ويُنطَلَقُ منه في صياغة قواعد توجيه الاختلاف والتقريب بين المختلفِين.
ومن أهم المؤلفات المفيدة والنادرة في هذا الباب، ما كتبه الإمام أبو عبد الله المِسْناوي الدِّلائي شيخ الجماعة بفاس في هذا الكتاب «تنبيه ذوي الولاية والعرفان» الذي شَرَحَ فيه أسباب الخلاف العَقَدي وشَرَّحهَا، ووضع القواعد والأسس الضابطة لمسائلها وقضاياها، موجّهًا الخلافات التي حدثت وتحدث بين المذاهب العقدية والمشارب الفكرية والفلسفية.
