الشق الأول مجموعة من الغرناطيين يحاولون الهرب عن طريق المحيط فيتبعهم الجيش الأسباني فيضطرهم للجوء إلي جزيرة نائية، وتدور أحداث مثيره في عرض البحر الكاريبي وداخل الجزيرة
الشق الثاني التاجر غسان الذي فقد عائلتة تحت وطأة محاكم التفتيش ولم يتبقي له من عائلته سوي ابنته سارة التي حررها من العبودبه وقررا هو وابنته الاختباء في الغابه وقنص جنود الاسبان
الرواية يتخللها رومانسية وآكشن ومشاعر مختلفه وإثارة بلا ملل.
