الحمدُ للَّهِ وحدَهُ، والصلاةُ والسَّلامُ على من لا نبيَّ بَعدَهُ، وآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ الغُرٌّ الميامينَ، وبَعدُ :
فإِنِّي لأضعُ بين يديكَ أيها القارئ بالفعل الناظم بالقوة دليلًا وافيًا موجزًا لعلمِ الخَليلِ ألا وهو العَروض، لمَعرفَةِ البُحورِ الشعريةِ، وسمتُه بـ(شَقّ البُحُورِ فِي شَرحِ البُحُورِ)، راجيًا أن يكونَ سراجًا للمُحتاج، وعلى الله أعتمدُ، وبه أعتضدُ، وأعتصمُ ممَّا يصمُ، وهو نعمَ المعين.
