جميلة هادي ناصر الرجوي من مواليد صنعاء عام 1972م، تحمل دكتوراة في التاريخ (تخصص تاريخ عرب حديث ومعاصر) من جامعة أسيوط عام 2011م. تعمل حاليا أستاذ مشارك بكلية التربية جامعة صنعاء قسم التاريخ. لها أكثر من خمس عشرة مؤلف منشور وغير منشور في مجالات التاريخ والأدب، وما يزيد على أكثر من عشرة أبحاث منشورة في المجالات المتخصصة، ولها مشاركات أدبية وعلمية في كتب ودواوين مشتركة. شاركت في العديد من المؤتمرات العلمية في اليمن وبعض البلدان العربية والإسلامية. حاصلة على العديد من الدورات العلمية والأدبية، وحازت على العديد من الجوائز وشهادات التقدير. عضو اتحاد المؤرخين العرب.

الكتاب يهتم بجمع المادة التاريخية المتناثرة بين دفات مضابط الجامعة التي تخص اليمن كاملة، وذلك بداية من عام تأسيس الجامعة (1945م) وحتى قيام ثورة 26 سبتمبر 1962م في اليمن، وقد تنوعت هذه المادة بين السياسي والثقافي والاجتماعي.
