المدينة المتاهة رواية الخيال العلمي والمغامرة، تحكي عن أربعة أصدقاء من العاصمة مدريد، حاصلين على دبلوم في الهندسة المعلوماتية من الجامعة الاسبانية، ومعهم محقق خاص، قرروا السفر إلى مدينة ـ بامْبْلونا ـ التي توجد في شمال اسبانيا وبالقرب من الحدود الفرنسية. لكن في طريقهم إلى تلك المدينة وعند الوصول إلى ملتقى الطرق، توقف محرك سيارتهم فجأة مصدرا صوتا قويّا. هكذا وجدوا أنفسهم وسط الخلاء حيث كانت هناك علامتان للتشوير الطرقي اللتان تشيران إلى نفس المدينة لكن باتجاهين مختلفين. في ذلك المكان كان هناك أيضا رجل وامرأة لم تعد درّاجتهما النارية تعمل بشكل غريب. وبعد نقاش بسيط فيما بينهم، اختار الجميع الطريق ذا المسافة القصيرة حسب ما تشير إليه إحدى تلك الإشارتين، كي يصلوا بسرعة إلى هدفهم مادام الليل قد بدأ يخيّم على المكان، وهكذا بدأت المغامرة غير المنتظرة...
