غراتسيا ديليدا هي أديبة إيطالية من مواليد جزيرة سردينيا ولدت في 27 سبتمبر 1871 وتوفيت في 15 اغسطس 1936.
هاجرت إلى روما في أوائل القرن العشرين حصلت على جائزة نوبل في الأدب لسنة 1926.
وهي ثاني امرأة تحصل على الجائزة.
كانت اعمالها شديدة الارتباط بموطنها الاصلي سردينيا.

هي رواية بقلم جراتسيا ديليدا نُشرت عام 1896 بواسطة دار نشر سبيرينى و فيلى دى تورينو. و في عام 1906 تم نشرها كملحق في جريدة جازيتا ديل بوبولو في تورين بعنوان الخادم . و بطل الرواية هو بيترو ، مزارع من عائلة نوينا المكونة من نيكولا نوينا ، من أصول متواضعة ، وزوجته لويزا المتغطرسة التي جاءت من عائلة غنية وابنته ماريا ، الجميلة والمتغطرسة ايضا و التي لا تظهر أي علامة على الاعجاب بذلك الشاب الخادم. و كان بيترو مزارع شاب يحب سابينا ، ابنة أخت ماريا و كانت فقيرة ، و شعرت ماريا بالغيرة بشكل غير متوقع ، من قبل بيترو الذي لم يطمح إلى هذا القدر ، "و يسمح" لنفسه بالوقوع في حبها. و يتمكن من استمالتها ومن أجل طلب يدها يعدها بأنه سيصبح ثريًا. لكن بينما يكون بيترو بعيدًا للعمل ، يطلب فرانشيسكو روزانا ، وهو مالك أرض ثري ، يد ماري.
