من المؤكد أن " تفوق النموذج البيداغوجي على التكنولوجيا "، على حد تعبير (Depover,2000:147)، أصبح يفرض نفسه على المصممين والباحثين التربويين والديداكتيكيين على السواء، إذ جعل ( الفائدة البيداغوجية للتكنولوجيا، وقبل كل شيء، تكمن في ملاءمة نماذج التعليم التي تستعملها) (Brodin,2002:150). لذلك غدا اختيار بنية هندسية لأي تطبيق تعليمي متعلقا بتصميم الإجراءات التعليمية، وفق نموذج تعليمي يطابق حاجات المتعلمين ويستجيب لها.
معنى ذلك أن معمارية التطبيقات البيداغوجية عموما ليست نمطية، وتختلف اختياراتها التقنية تبعا لاختلاف الهدف من هذه التطبيقات، ولطبيعة الإجراءات والخطوات المنهجية التي تم تقريرها لتمرير المضمون التعليمي. لكن رغم اختلاف الاختيارات التقنية، المرتبطة بالأساس بتصور المعجم، إلا أن مجموعة من الثوابت تلازم بنية المعاجم الإلكترونية المعدة للتعليم، وهي التي تضمن نجاعة برمجة المحتويات التعليمية وفعاليتها.
