العنوان ينفتح على عدة قراءات، والقراءة العاشقة هي التي تستطيع ولوج عالمه الضبابي، والمنفلت والزئبقي. فالشاعرة لم تجد مخبأ في قلوب الأصدقاء، وفي وطنها الحبيب الذي غربتها الحرب الشرسة عنه، بل وجدت لنفسها الحزينة مكانًا في "مخبأ الملائكة" لأنه الملاذ الحقيقي والاختيار الصائب، بهذا تعلن الشاعرة عن تطليقها للعالم الأرضي بحروبه ونفاقه ودنسه وقلوب أناسه المتحجرة على هذا الكوكب الحزين، لأن في هذا العالم الأرضي وقعت حروب بشعة، ودمار مهول، واغتصابات عنيفة للأطفال وهم في عز طفولتهم، وجرائم في حق الأبرياء والشيوخ، فاختارت "مخبأ الملائكة" في العالم السماوي، والتطليق (أعني تطليق الأرضي من أجل السماوي) جاء نتيجة تصادم الذات المبدعة بالواقع، هذا التصادم واللاتجانس جعلها تبحث عن بديل يحتوي أزمتها وانكسارات ذاتها، فوجدت "مخبأ الملائكة" الحضن الهادئ والجزيرة الرائعة والملاذ الآمن، في "مخبأ الملائكة" تختبئ الطفلة الشاعرة من قبح العالم ورداءة مبادئه وقيمه المزيفة الآيلة للسقوط.
