وكان كثير من الناس ولا زالوا يدعون طاعة الرسول ومحبة له وتبدو منهم مظاهر واحتفالات وبهجة وسرور وسعادة واعتزاز لكنهم بمنأى عن حقيقة الطاعة وضوابطها التي حددها القرآن الكريم فجاء هذا البحث ليَزِن من يدعي وصلا به -عليه الصلاة والسلام- بموازين تلك الضوابط والمحددات ليعلم هل طاعته لرسوله وإيمانه به متوافرة فيه وتنطبق عليه؟ أم لا؟ فإن لم تنطبق فما عليه إلا تجديد إيمانه وتقيده بما نطق القرآن به، وهنا نفترض أن من نخاطب بهذا الكتاب هو مؤمن بالله تعالى ومؤمن بنبيه ، ومؤمن أن القرآن كله حق، وأنه مطيع لله ولرسوله، إلا أن طاعته لرسوله قاصرة على محبته كما يحب أباه أو ولي أمره أو أن طاعته قاصرة على الاحتفاء به من غير التزام للطاعة التي بينها القرآن.. نعم جاء البحث هذا ليظهر أن القرآن الكريم لم يكتف بالطاعة الظاهرة بل حدّدها بضوابط وقيود لابد للمسلم من أن لا يحيد ولا يزيغ عنها.
