قام الشاعر بمراجعة أهازيج الأطفال من تراثنا الشعبي وعمل على محاولة ابتكار أوزان شعرية جديدة . وفي هذا السياق تم التركيز على أن تكون القصائد مناسبة لأعمارهم لتقترب من هذه الفئة العمرية وهنا تم ابتكار شخصية مفتاح ّ الشاعر الطفل، ليكون قريبا منهم يحاورهم ويعلمهم ويتعلم معهم
