• حصل على البكالوريوس من كلية التجارة بجامعة الملك سعود بالرياض عام 1963.
• تلقى تعليمه العالي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فحصل على شهادة الماجستير في الإدارة من جامعة منيسوتا عام 1966، ثم حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الإدارة العامة من الجامعة الأمريكية بواشنطن في مطلع عام 1970.
• تدرج في السلك الأكاديمي فحصل على درجة أستاذ عام 1979.
• عمل عميداً لكلية التجارة , وكلية العلوم الاجتماعية , وكلية الدراسات العليا، مستشار في عدة هيئات علمية, وعضو في هيئة تحرير المجلة العربية للإدارة, ومجلة العلوم الاجتماعية.
• له العديد من المؤلفات والدواوين الشعرية.

قيل من طلب حلاوة الصوت وعذوبته وجده عند الشيخ عبد الباسط محمد عبد الصمد المتوفى سنة 1988م ومن طلب قواعد الترتيل ففارسها الشيخ محمود خليل الحصري المتوفى سنة 1980م ومن طلب قوة الصوت بخشوع الإيمان فصاحبه الشيخ محمد صدّيق المنشاوي المتوفى سنة 1969م، ومن كان مولعاً بعلوم القراءات ومخارج الألفاظ والوقوف والابتداء فأستاذها بلا منازع الشيخ محمد الصيفي المتوفى سنة 1955أما الشيخ محمد محمود رفعت صاحب الحنجرة الذهبية، ففيه كل ذلك، وكل من جاء بعده عِيال عليه، عالة على مدرسته وحسن أدائه.
