عبد الحميد ابن أحمد الخطيب (1316 هـ إلى 1381 هـ). هو السيد عبد الحميد بن أحمد بن عبد اللطيف بن عبد الله الخطيب. ولد بمكة المكرمة في 24 صفر 1316 هـ. وتلقى علومه الأولية على يد علماء المسجد الحرام في ذلك الوقت، ومنهم الشيخ سعيد يماني والشيخ عمر بن أبوبكر باجنيد ووالده السيد أحمد الخطيب إمام وخطيب المسجد الحرام مفتي المذهب الشافعي.
أصله من منكابو من بلاد جاوة، حج والده وجاور، وتولى الخطابة في مقام الإمام الشافعي بمكة، فقيل له الخطيب. وبها ولد عبد الحميد. عمل في خدمة الشريف حسين بن علي في مصر، وخرج حسين من الحجاز وحل محله الملك عبد العزيز فخالفه عبد الحميد، ثم أطاعه. عاد إلى مكة سنة 1926 وتولى بعض الأعمال الرسمية إلى أن عين سفيراً للمملكة السعودية في باكستان. مرض فأعفي من العمل سنة 1950 واستقر بدمّر قرب دمشق إلى أن توفي. من كتبه تفسير الخطيب المكي.

بعد أن أنهى علومه الشرعية أجيز مدرسا بالمسجد الحرام ثم عين عضوا بمجلس الشورى من 1355 هـ - 1366 هـ. وفي عام 1367 عين وزيرا مفاوضا لدى دولة باكستان منذ استقلالها. وعندما استقلت إندونيسيا إنتدبه الملك عبد العزيز على رأس وفد لتمثيل المملكة في حفل تسليم السلطة من هولندا. وقد عين كأول سفير سعودي لدى دولة الباكستان الشقيقة في ظل حكم موحد البلاد الملك المفدى المرحوم الملك عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود في عام 1373 هـ واستمر سفيرا لها حتى عام 1374 هـ ثم طلب إحالته إلى التقاعد بعد إصابته بمرض القلب، حيث أشار إليه الأطباء بضرورة التزام الراحة فانتقل إلى قرية الزبداني، أحد أرياف دمشق في بلاد الشام واتخذها مقرا له، وانصرف فيها إلى الدعوة إلى الله من خلال الصحف والندوات.
