وفي هذا الإطار يتناول الكتاب العلاقة الجديدة بين ثورة النشر الإلكتروني وجوانب استخداماته العديدة، وبين الإخراج الصحفي وتوظيف العاملين الجديدين في عالم الصحافة في الإعلاء من قيمة العمل الصحفي، والتركيز على جمالياته، سعيا وراء تحقيق أكبر قدر من الخدمة الصحفية، بهدف الارتقاء بالذوق العام والارتفاع بالتوزيع وزيادة العائدات من العمل الصحفي. هذا الكتاب محاولة للربط بين ثورة "التقنية" في عصرنا الحاضر وتدفق المعلومات، وبين "الإخراج الصحفي"، وهو علم حديث ظهر بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية، أي في فترة لا تجاوز نصف القرن، فصار ممكناً الإفادة من القدرات الكبيرة للحاسب الآلي وشبكة الإنترنت في تطوير أساليب الإخراج الصحفي، من حيث معالجة الحرف ومعالجة النص، وكذلك الصورة الفوتوغرافية، وكذا الصورة الرقمية التي أعطت عملية الإخراج الصحفي بعداً جديداً، من حيث المقروئية والوضوح والجاذبية والدقة، بجانب فن الألوان، وما يتبع ذلك من مضاعفة في جذب انتباه واهتمام القارئ.
