عُرِفَ شاعرُ المَهْجَرِ «جبران خليل جبران» بغزارةِ إنتاجِهِ وتنوُّعِهِ بينَ الألوانِ الأدبيةِ المختلفة؛ حيث نظَمَ الشعرَ وألَّفَ الروايةَ والقصةَ القصيرة، وكتَبَ كذلك المقالةَ التي تنوَّعَتْ موضوعاتُها هي الأخرى ما بينَ الاجتماعيِّ والسياسيِّ والفكريِّ والفلسفي. وهذا الكتاب الذي جمَعَه أحدُ الأدباءِ المغمورِينَ يحتوي على ألوانٍ شتَّى من إنتاجِ «جبران»؛ فنجدُ فيه القصةَ القصيرةَ وبعضَ المقالاتِ عَنِ الوضعِ السياسيِّ في العالَمِ العربي، وأيضًا عن مشاكلِ بلدِهِ لبنانَ ووضْعِهُ الخاصِّ المُتأزِّمِ في العالَمِ العربي، بجانبِ ما يُشبِهُ الخواطرَ الفلسفيةَ الذاتيةَ التي وصَفَ في بعضِها شُعورَهُ بالاغترابِ عن مُحيطِه، بل حتى عن نفسِهِ التي كثيرًا ما كان يَشعرُ بأنه لا يَفهمُها. وَجْبةٌ ثقافيةٌ وخياليةٌ دَسِمةٌ يُقدِّمُها هذا الكتابُ بالرغمِ من قِلَّةِ عددِ صفحاتِه.
