تنتمي الرواية إلى أدب السيرة الذاتية، وتحكي عن "سنية"، نزيلة مستشفى الأمراض العقلية الصامتة التي لا يعرف أحد شيئا عن تاريخها ولا سبب قدومها إليه منذ أكثر من عشرين عاما، إلى أن يهتم بلغز صمتها "الدكتور وليد" الذي يجد في فك شفرة سنية طريقا إلى التواؤم مع ماضيه الشخصي، وقد توحدت سنية بداخله مع أبيه الذي قضى سنوات عمره الأخيرة في نفس المكان، وما يجده وليد في حياة سنية من أسرار أكثر مما كان يتوقع ويضعه على طريق التصالح مع آلامه و طريق الأمل في مستقل مختلف.
