يبين أن الصحابى هو من لقى رسول الله مؤمناً به وبرسالته ، وصحابة رسول الله هم الذين رباهم على الأسس الإسلامية بكل جوانبها، وبذلك حولهم تحويلاً كاملاً من الجاهلية إلى الإسلام فاتحلت عقدة الشرك ومعها انحلت كل العقد، وكان ذلك أغرب تغيير فى تاريخ العالم، ولذلك صدق فيهم قول الرسول" صلى الله عليه وسلم" : "لا تسبوا أصحابى فو الذى نفسى بيده لو أنفق أحدكم مثل أحد ذهبام مابلغ مد أحدهم ولاتصفه"رواه البخارى ومسلم. وقد نال بعض الصحابة ألقابا دينية تبين عظمة جوانب شخصياتهم فى الإسلام، كما أعطى الرسول أوسمة نبوية للمتميزين منهم ، فكانت أوسمة خالدة
